I’m Randall Beach (but you can call me Randy), and I’m a columnist for Connecticut magazine. I am a former columnist and reporter for the New Haven Register, and co-wrote the book “The Legendary Toad’s Place: Stories from New Haven’s Famed Music Venue” with Brian Phelps in 2021. In June 2023 Globe Pequot, publisher of the Toad’s Place book, published “Connecticut Characters: Profiles of Rascals and Renegades,” a collection of my favorite New Haven Register columns from 1980-2020.
